Drive from Perth to the Swan Valley Wine Region
Visit Caversham Wildlife Park – hand feed the kangaroos, photo opportunity with a koala, meet Wombat + friends (11am show), Farm Show (10am – watch sheep shearing, crack a stock whip, milk a cow, bottle feed a lamb, meet a stockman on horseback, swing a billy, watch sheep dogs mustering the sheep – all the excitement of a true blue Aussie farm) and see other Australian Wildlife (cockatoo, black swan and emus).
COST: $29 per adult, $13 per child (3 – 14 yrs) – at your own expense. 9:45 – 11:45
Enjoy a light lunch (at own expense) at Village Cafe, Whiteman Park – Halal Certified Restaurant. 12:00 – 1:00
Visit the Golden Grove Citrus Orchard. They have 13000 trees, containing six varieties of naval oranges, seville oranges (great for marmalade) and other citrus varieties include lemons, limes, grapefruit and mandarins.
The one hour Orchard Tour includes a tractor ride through the orchards and fruit picking (charged at $5 per kg). You will get $10 credit per adult which can be used towards purchasing local produce (either fruit, freshly squeezed juice, honey, jam, sauces or preserves). 1:45 – 3pm
COST: The 1 hour orchard tour is $55 per group + an additional $10 per adult (at own expense).
The $10 per adult is then used to purchase local produce (so the orchard tour only costs $55 AUD per group)
Visit the House of Honey & Sticky Spoon Café – owner operated specialising in raw, unpasteurised, pure varietal honeys. Healing honeys with intense flavours, taste their delicious honeys from Jarrah, Banksia, chilli and truffle honey. The shop showcases bee pollen, royal jelly, candles, beauty products, honey sparkling water and giftwares. See the live bee display or try a honey ice-cream in the café. 3:00 – 3:30
Visit Whistlers Chocolate Co. A family owned business, it is now the oldest confectionery company in the State. Taste quality handmade chocolate that is simply irresistible (free tastings) 3:40 – 4:15
Return drop off at accommodation by 5:00pm.
